Mr Rajendran (MBA, PGDE)

Economics Lecturer

Mr Rajendran has been teaching Economics for more than 20 years. He taught at A-level and IB Economics at ACJC, Outram Institute and Millennia Institute and Singapore Sports School.

Dr Matilda Gabrielpillai (PhD)

English Literature Professor

Dr. Matilda was a lecturer of English Language and Literature at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University. While there, she developed and chaired NIE's Academic Writing programme for trainee teachers and helmed courses in Post-colonial and Contemporary Literatures as well as Women's Writing. She had earlier been a journalist with the local press.

Wei Ze graduated with 10 distinctions in his 'O' levels and 7 As in his 'A' levels. A student of Raffles Institution, he has made it to the Dean's list. In the last three years, he has been busy using his unique Exam-Oriented-Game-Plan to help his students ace their respective exams.

Dr Chitra Shegar (PhD)

English Language Professor

Dr Chitra Shegar worked as an Asst Prof in the English department of National Institute of Education, NTU, from 2003 to 2015. She trained teachers in English Language teaching for many years, both in Singapore and overseas. Prior to this, she worked as a GP teacher for several years in a Singapore school. Her latest stint in GP instruction was with Raffles Institution in 2018.

This series of workshops will review the Economics syllabus, its exam requirements and subject expectations

In this GP writing clinic, students will learn the features of two main text types: expository and argumentative texts.


They will be given models of these two text types and will work with the instructor in identifying their structural and linguistic conventions.


Students will then be guided in activities to systematically produce these text types themselves. They will first write collaboratively with the instructor before writing independently.

This workshop will provide a simple but effective approach to the challenging 'Unseen' section of Paper 1 of A-Level Literature in English that demands comparative analysis. The instructor will take students methodically through the steps required to compare two poems at a deep level and write coherently and interestingly about their findings
